ENGLISH:
REVOLUTIONÄRINNEN
(The title of the song is the grammatical feminine form of "revolutionary". In the chorus it's the (generic) masculine form in the first part, in the second part we sing it with "gender pause" between the main word "revolutionär" and the feminine suffix "-innen" to mark an asterisk (*) wich stands for identities between and beyond binary gender order).
We would really, really like to be, revolutionairies
But we ain’t, but we ain‘t
We would really, really like to be, revolutionairies
But we ain’t, but we ain‘t
You may scold, nag and screech
There’s nothing to haggle
Rain can't be dry
Wrong live cannot be lived rightly
Everything you do is just too few
And you can‘t change anything that has to change at all
We would really, really like to be...
We listen to the music, got a t-shirt and even a bumper sticker
When we don’t have to go to work, we go to the rally and stand there
And we scream and we are furious and soon our vocal cords hurt
But we’ll have a soothing herbal tea in the evening against that
We would really, really like to be...
The good people beat each other in being good nowadays
But we have to ask ourself if that’s enough in the end
